Our verdict

Our verdict8.8/10

JennScents Aromaversity, led by Jennifer Hochell Pressimone, offers a NAHA-approved Holistic Aromatherapy Certification for $565 paid in full or four payments of $159, and a deeper Clinical Aromatherapy Certification for $2,995.

Courses are online and self-paced, with video lessons, an eWorkbook, mentoring and continuing-education credits for NAHA, CE Broker and NCBTMB where applicable. The school states it has been NAHA-approved since 2004. The main drawback is the refund policy: requests must be made within 48 hours, before any study begins, and a $75 fee applies. For learners who want recognized aromatherapy training at a moderate price, it is a solid option.

Best for: Wellness practitioners who want a NAHA-approved aromatherapy certification at a moderate price, with a path to clinical level.

What you’ll learn

The Holistic program provides 70 hours of instruction on essential-oil quality, safety, history, carriers and blending applications. Its published content includes profiles for 25 essential oils and at least 12 carriers, with dilution guidelines, recipes and different application methods. The stated introductory audience is beginners and enthusiasts interested in personal and family use.

Video lessons are accompanied by an eWorkbook, supporting materials and guided mentoring. The official FAQ says students can email Jennifer directly with questions while working on assignments and case studies. That provides a specific support route rather than only a general promise of community.

The course should be evaluated around those documented learning tasks: understanding the materials, working through blending guidance and completing the required studies. The provider’s descriptions of health-supporting uses are not evidence that the training establishes clinical effectiveness for a particular condition. Its own site identifies the education as educational and not a replacement for professional medical guidance.

Format, schedule and time commitment

Study is online and self-paced, with lifetime access to the videos. The school suggests a 16-week fast track or a slower six-to-nine-month approach to the 70 hours. Choose a pace that leaves room for assignments and case studies, rather than equating video access with a guaranteed finish date.

Guided mentoring and student resources accompany the lessons. Direct questions about assignments can go to Jennifer, giving you a concrete support route to use while working independently.

Accreditation and what the credential is worth

JennScents describes its certification as NAHA-approved and its school as NAHA-accredited. Students receive a Certified Holistic Aromatherapist certificate after testing, with NAHA, CE Broker, and NCBTMB continuing-education credits available where applicable.

NAHA approval identifies an aromatherapy education pathway. The separate continuing-education references apply to eligible existing professionals and jurisdictions, not every learner; the page’s differing nursing-credit wording makes written confirmation particularly worthwhile.

Price, payment plans and refunds

The October 5, 2026 prices are $565 upfront or four monthly payments of $159 for Holistic, and $2,995 upfront or 12 monthly payments of $272.50 for Clinical. The four- and 12-month plans spread the two courses’ costs differently, so choose the level before assessing monthly affordability.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 48 hours, before any studies begin, and carry a $75 processing fee. Four $159 payments total $636, which is $71 more than $565; the page’s “save $72” label does not match those amounts. Use the actual installments and obtain a confirmed contract total rather than relying on the savings label.

Who it’s best for — and who should skip it

Wellness practitioners seeking moderately priced, NAHA-approved aromatherapy education with a later clinical pathway are a strong fit. The foundation offers structured essential-oil study and access to a named mentor. If you specifically need the deeper Clinical curriculum, however, do not treat Holistic as an interchangeable lower-priced version.

Pros and cons in detail

A long-standing NAHA connection. The school’s named association and approval give you a specific recognition claim to check against your intended use.

Prices you can calculate. Published tuition and installment amounts allow a direct comparison between upfront payment and financing over time.

Work beyond watching lessons. Videos, an eWorkbook, assignments, and guided email mentoring provide several ways to engage with the content.

A clinical progression exists. Deeper study is available later, without requiring an advanced purchase when you are beginning with Holistic.

Refund eligibility closes quickly. The 48-hour window, $75 fee, and restriction on beginning study make pre-enrollment questions especially useful.

Clinical is a separate investment. Its $2,995 upfront price is substantial and should be evaluated as another course, not an included extra.

Bonus figures are marketing valuations. They neither reduce the amount payable nor demonstrate that every inclusion will be useful to you.

How it compares

JennScents is the sole aromatherapy provider in our current selection. The relevant comparison here is therefore between its own educational levels, rather than unrelated nutrition or Reiki certificates presented as equivalent alternatives.

The aromatherapy certification category features JennScents alone, so there are no two independent same-category reviews to link. Within the school, Professional and Clinical are named progression options that the FAQ says can be added later. Compare their curricula and quotes individually instead of assuming the names refer to the same certificate at different prices.

The Clinical option is listed at $2,995 paid in full or 12 payments of $272.50. Those installments total $3,270, making the payment schedule a different financial commitment from the upfront price. For someone interested only in personal blending foundations, the presence of that advanced route does not by itself justify buying it now.

The official page also names Professional, but this review does not establish its tuition. Ask how completed Holistic work counts toward an upgrade and whether prior tuition receives credit. That will avoid both assuming you must repeat the entire course and assuming an upgrade costs only the difference between advertised totals.

How to enroll

The official page sets out three steps: enroll in the chosen program, receive online access and begin self-paced study. Use Pay Now or Pay Monthly only after deciding whether you want the Holistic level, and resolve questions through the offered Meet & Greet before opening lessons if refund eligibility matters.

Ask for a physical-supplies list before paying for blending assignments. The site separately links books and supply kits, and the tuition description does not establish that every oil, carrier, or container is included. A written list will make your budget more reliable than the bonus valuations attached to the offer.

If you are seeking continuing-education credit, provide the school with your actual license or credential and jurisdiction. The page lists CE Broker and NCBTMB provider identifiers and several professional categories, but recognition must match the individual course and your own renewal rules. A hobby learner choosing the course for family use has a different purchase decision from a licensed professional buying it to meet a specific credit requirement.
